Garabaldi Provential Park, Coastal Range BC

 

            Nestled above the Squamish River Valley an hours drive north of Vancouver, BC. The Garabaldi wilderness is a network of volcanic mountians formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions and then weathered down by glaciers. Mt Garabaldi being the highest in the Park at 8,800ft Mt Garabaldi is a dormant volcano last erupted over 3,000 years ago.

            Garabaldi Provential Park is part of the Coastal Range streaching from Vancouver to Alaska and Yokon Teritory. The mountians are mainy covered in large masses of icefields at higher elevations. In the Garabaldi Wilderness, there are thousands of lakes open meadows covered with wildflowers and streams and rivers.
